WSU TC TRIO Upward Bound Columbia Basin cultivates excellence in high school students by providing college opportunities to highly motivated first-generation and/or low-income students.
We are a federally funded program. Federal TRIO programs are federal educational outreach and student services programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO Programs serve low-income, first-generation, individuals with disabilities, and military veterans for successful entry into, retention in, and completion of postsecondary education.
TRIO Upward Bound Vision:
We expect each participant to achieve the following:
- Competitive GPA
- State test scores at the college-ready level
- Take rigorous courses to prepare for the rigor of college coursework
- Graduate on time
- Enter college the fall after high school graduation
- Graduate with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree within six years of high school graduation
